One of the most common questions we get is: “What exactly is a tag?”
Let’s break it down and answer everything you need to know ��

After you register as a consignor, you’ll start tagging your items in our system. Each item is entered individually, and a tag is created for it — and that tag is very important!

��️ What’s on Your Tag (and Why It Matters)

�� Your Consignor Number
This is how we track all of your items and sales. You can log into the system at the end of each sale day to see what has sold — it’s exciting to watch your items turn into money! ��

�� Item Description (entered by you)
This is crucial in case a tag falls off, so be specific! We recommend including:

Brand name (always first)

Color

Style or unique detail

Examples of great descriptions:
✔️ Lululemon black sleeveless tank
✔️ Free People white short-sleeve crop top

These details help us quickly match tags to items that have fallen off and get them back on the sales floor.

�� Size
Adding size makes it easier for shoppers (and staff) to find the right item quickly.

�� Price
Yes — you choose how much your item sells for!

�� Discount & Donation Options

��️ Discount Option (Half-Price Day – last day of the sale)
Choose whether your item will be included in Half-Price Day if it has not sold already:

Select YES → your item will be discounted 50% on the final day

Select NO → your item stays full price

�� Donation Option
Choose whether you want to pick up your unsold items or donate them:

Donate → items are given to a local charity after the sale

Pick Up → items must be retrieved during the scheduled pick-up window

⚠️ Any items left behind will become property of Tag, You’re It

�� Don’t worry — it’s easier than it sounds!
Once you get started, tagging goes quickly. You can tag a few items at a time, save your progress, and come back later. There’s no need to do it all at once.

��️ Tag FAQs

❓ Do I have to tag everything I want to sell?
✔️ Yes! Each item needs a tag so it can be tracked, priced, and sold correctly.

❓ How big are the tags?
✔️ Tags print 6 per page on standard white cardstock. Each tag measures 4¼ inches long by 2¼ inches wide.
⚠️ Please don’t make them smaller — consistent tag size makes items easier for shoppers and staff to find. This is very important!

❓ Why do tags need to be printed on white cardstock?
✔️ Cardstock is sturdier than regular paper. Your items will be handled by many shoppers, and sturdy tags stay attached, stay readable, and help your items sell!

You can buy white cardstock anywhere you buy regular paper — Walmart, Amazon, Target, Staples, and more.
�� Tip: The Walmart brand works especially well — it’s the perfect thickness and doesn’t smear. Use whatever works best with your printer.

��️ How to Attach Your Tags

✔️ Clothing
Use a tagging gun (highly recommended if you have lots of items). It’s fast, easy, and saves so much time!

✔️ Purses, shoes, and bags
Use cable ties. Punch a hole in the tag and attach it securely.

✔️ Toys
Use cable ties, clear packing tape, or painter’s tape. Painter’s tape works best because it won’t damage packaging.

✔️ Books
Always use painter’s tape to attach the tag to the book.

⚠️ Important reminder: Never cover the barcode on your tag — our scanning wand won’t be able to read it if it’s covered.

Returning Fall Consignors

Returning Fall Sale consignors interested in participating in the Spring Sale may now register.

Our Spring Sale (April 16-19) is now active! If you would like to participate, you can keep the same consignor number you used for the Fall Sale.

Follow these simple steps to register for the Spring Sale:

Log into your consignor account

Click “Register Me for the Upcoming Sale”

Confirm your information

Sign the Seller Agreement

After completing these steps, click Continue, and you’ll be taken back to your Consignor Homepage — now registered for the Spring Sale.

All of your Fall Sale inventory has automatically moved into your Inactive Inventory for the Spring Sale. You can easily activate any items you plan to bring by following these steps:

Click Active Inventory Status

Click Inactive Inventory

Select the items you want to bring to the Spring Sale

Click Activate Selected Items

Once activated, those items are ready to go — you do NOT need to re-tag them. Simply bring them with the tags attached from the last sale. You can also begin tagging any new items you’d like to include in the Spring Sale.

What is a pop-up sale for active gear and clothing?
We’re not a brick-and-mortar store. Instead, we host temporary pop-up sales where we rent a large space—our Fall sale will be at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, NJ—(we are taking over the former Forever 21 store) and invite anyone who wants to sell their clothes, shoes, purses and baby/toddler clothes, shoes, accessories and all the gear and gently used or new sporting goods and athletic clothing.

Consignors get to make money and clean out their closets, garage attics etc. Shoppers get to purchase great equipment and clothing at greatly reduced prices.

How does the sale work?
Consignors register here

Once registered, you’ll enter the items you want to sell into our system, which will generate barcoded tags. Print and attach the tags to your clothes and items, then bring everything to the designated drop-off day to be placed on the sales floor.

Is this sale just for kids’ clothing?
No! The sale includes clothing for both kids and adults. Plus all the accessories, shoes, jewelry and sporting equipment.

Who Shops at the Event?

Can I Be a Consignor and a Shopper?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to sell your items and shop the sale at the same time.

Are children allowed at the sale?
Yes! Children are welcome on all sale days, and admission is free. Please ensure all children are accompanied by an adult.

What forms of payment are accepted at the sale?
We accept:

Apple Pay

Please note: personal checks are not accepted.

Does it cost to enter the sale as a shopper?
If you don’t have a ticket, there will be a small admission fee at the door. To claim a free ticket, click here

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to enter the sale?

You can bring your printed ticket or show us your ticket on your phone.

What is the refund policy?

All merchandise purchased at the sale is FINAL, no returns or exchanges.

How does the sale work?
Consignors register through our website: www.tyisale.com . Once registered, you’ll enter the items you want to sell into our system, which will generate barcoded tags. Print and attach the tags to your items, then bring everything to the designated drop-off day to be placed on the sales floor.

What Can I Sell at the Sale?

Women’s:

Do clothes need to be on hangers?
Yes, all clothing must be on hangers (wire, wood, or plastic). When attaching tags, the best spot is the label at the back of the collar. If there’s no label, another secure option is the armpit area.

Is this sale just for kids’ clothing?
No! The sale includes clothing for both kids and adults.

Who Consigns at the Event?

Is There a Fee to Be a Consignor?

Yes. There’s a $10 consignor fee , but you don’t pay it upfront. Instead, it’s automatically deducted from your earnings once the sale is complete.

How Many Items Can I Sell?

There’s no limit to the number of items or clothing pieces you can consign at the sale.

Do I Need to Be at the Sale to Sell My Items?

Nope! Once you drop off your tagged items, we handle everything else. You can track your sales at the end of each shopping day using our online system. After the event ends, you’ll receive your earnings via e-check.

Can I Be a Consignor and a Shopper?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to sell your items and shop the sale at the same time.

Who Sets the Prices for My Items?

You do! Using our online software, you’ll enter item descriptions, set your prices, and print tags at home to attach to your clothing and equipment. (A tagging video is included in this email to help you through the process.)

What Happens if My Items Don’t Sell?

If items remain unsold, you’ll have two options (selected during tagging):

Pick them up at the conclusion of the sale.
Donate them to our partner charity—no further action needed.

How Will I Get Paid?

Approximately two weeks after the sale ends, you’ll receive an e-check via email with your earnings (minus the $10 consignor fee).

How Much Can I Earn?

Consignors earn 60% of the sale price they set for their items. You can even earn more if you choose to volunteer at the sale!

Does tagging seem overwhelming? The answer is Valet Tagging!

✨ Want Us to Do the Work? Try Valet Tagging! ✨

Valet Tagging is the easiest way to consign. Simply drop your items off to me (at my home in Margate), and I will prep, price, and tag everything for you before bringing them to the sale. All you need to do is pick up your unsold items at the end—or make it even easier by donating them!

�� If you use Valet tagging you will earn 45% of your sales and do not have the option to earn more by helping at the sale.

Tag, You're It Valet Tagging Guidelines

If this sounds like the right fit for you, please read the guidelines below. Spots are limited and will only be reserved once both the $25 Registration Fee (Valet rate) and the Consignor Agreement are submitted.

1. Registration & Earnings

Valet taggers pay a $25 Registration Fee (compared to the $10 fee for self-tag consignors).
Valet taggers earn 45% of their sales .

2. Item Prep

All items must be clean, stain-free, and neatly folded in a bag or box.

3. Drop-Off

Items must be dropped off at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the sale .

What is a pop-up sale?

A pop-up sale is a temporary event—short in duration—which creates excitement and urgency for buyers. Shoppers know they only have a limited time to purchase, so items sell quickly.

1. Choosing Your Items

As a consignor, you decide what you’d like to sell. Start with your own closet, then check your spouse’s and kids’. We accept all types of athletic wear—leggings, sweatshirts, t-shirts, workout clothes, sneakers, cleats, golf shoes, and more.

Next, head to the baby’s room. Have they outgrown their swing, push toys, or activity mats? Clothes?

Then take a look in the garage—those unused golf clubs, camping gear that never gets touched, or lacrosse goalie equipment your child only used for one season are all perfect to sell.

2. Setting Your Prices

You control the prices of your items. Using our online software, you’ll enter descriptions, set your prices, and print tags at home to attach to your clothing and equipment. Watch video to assist with the tagging process.

Our online system will walk you through the tagging process, start by registering here with Tag.

While tagging your items, you’ll select a few preferences:

On the final day of the sale, should unsold items be discounted by 50%? (Yes or No)
If an item doesn’t sell, would you like to pick it up afterward, or have it donated to a local charity? (We announce the partner charity before each sale.)
If you choose pick-up, you’ll register for a time on our website. If you choose donation, you’re done—nothing more required.

3. Drop-Off

Choose a convenient day and time to drop off your items at the sale. It’s that simple—we handle the rest from there.

4. Watch Your Sales

During the event, you can log into our software and track your sales in real time as your earnings grow.

5. Receive your check

Approximately two weeks after the sale, you’ll receive an e-check by email for your earnings.
